The ARS USB Winlink Adapters designed for Soundcard Winlink interface programs and are plug and play with popular portable radios or for installation with virtually any radio or repeater.
The USB Winlink Adapters utilizes the CM108 chipset and has been tested and is compliant with USB 2.0 Full Speed (12 Mbps) Specification, USB Audio Device Class Specification 1.0 and USB HID Class Specification 1.1, and is USB bus-powered.
USB Winlink Radio Interface Adapters are typically supplied with speaker/microphone connectors specifically designed for most Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, Alinco, Wouxun and Baofeng handhelds; and a Universal Version that can be interfaced to virtually any radio or repeater.
The Adapter has 3 status LEDs for indication of Power and Computer Communication, Modulation and Tx Key. Potentiometers set the transmit and receive data levels.
Note: These Adapters are NOT compatible with Winlink modem software.
Yaesu Speaker/Mic Plugs
Yaesu has at least four different types of Speaker/Microphone Plugs that are not interchangeable.
Sorry- we do not have the 7-pin waterproof connector for the VX-8DR or -8R.
Check the following Speaker/Mic Plug types for your radio.
This is the Yaesu Waterproof Plug for the VX-6R, VX-7R, FT-270R, FT-277 & VX-170.
This is the standard Yaesu Plug for the VX-2, VX-3R, VX-8GR, FT-60R, FT-250R, VX-150, VX-5R, VX-110, VX-2R, FT-1DR, and the FT-1D.
Some older Yaesu radios use the Icom plug below.
Icom, Alinco Speaker/Mic Plug
This 2-prong Plug fits Icom, some older Yaesu, Radio Shack, most Alinco and other compatible portable radios. Please note that some Icom portable radio such as the ID-31 and the ID-51, and others, require a speaker/mic adapter cable available from Icom.
Kenwood, Wouxun, Baofeng Spk/Mic Plug
This 90-degree Plug fits most Kenwood, Wouxun, Baofeng, some Alinco and other compatible portable radios.
